Aaron Judge continues to put up some historic numbers in the year 2022.
The New York Yankees have been carried by his historic performance.
Judge now looks to at least tie Roger Maris‘ 61 home runs from 1961, which to this day is still the all-time American League record.
If you thought his first half numbers were good, you’ll want to check out his second half numbers as well.
Judge, the overwhelming favorite for the American League MVP, hit .281 with 29 home runs, and 60 RBI in his first 81 games this year.
In the past 62, he’s hit .351 with 28 home runs and 63 RBI.
Judge has taken it to another level in the second half and is ready to do some more damage.
MVP favorite Aaron Judge’s season with 19 remaining games:
Yankees first 81 games:
Judge: .281, 29 HRs, 60 RBI.
Yankees last 62 games:
Judge: .351, 28 HRs, 63 RBI.— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) September 15, 2022
Judgement Day Has Come
These are video-game type numbers that Judge is putting up.
This is the kind of hitter that invokes fear in pitchers when he steps up to the plate.
More than anything though, his numbers for the second half, let alone this season, are absolutely insane.
There’s a big reason as to why he is the overwhelming favorite to take home the American League MVP Award.
This man can flat out hit and has done that and then some all season long.
Surely, that will guarantee him a nice payday when he signs his next contract, which could very well be a record-setting deal.
Right now though, he’s simply centering every pitch that is thrown to him.
There is nothing that he hasn’t been able to accomplish yet this season.
He does also have a pretty good chance at potentially earning himself the Triple Crown in the American League.
Not since Miguel Cabrera has somebody won the Triple Crown.
Judge could end up being that guy though.
