New York Yankees‘ star Aaron Judge has been praised for his incredible and historical offensive performance in 2022.
However, for a guy who has been injury-prone over the years, he has been an ironman this year.
Not only he has played in a whopping 155 games already (out of a possible 159), but he hasn’t taken a day off in quite a while.
“#AaronJudge is starting his 54th consecutive game today (yes, the Yanks have had a few off-days sprinkled in, but still),” MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

Yes, that’s right: even before the home run record chase this month, Judge had not taken a day off in months.
The Yankees have had days off as a team every once in a while, but when they are in the calendar for that day, Judge plays.
A Season Of Highs For Judge
That’s incredibly valuable for the team, and it’s one of the reasons why he has been able to reach new heights at the plate.
For three straight seasons, from 2018 to 2020, Judge missed large chunks of those campaigns with several ailments.
He had started to show better health in 2021, a season in which he played in 148 out of 162 games: not bad at all.
This year, he has taken everything to new heights, including his games played total.
Offensively, he has been a beast: with a .311/.426/.686 slash line, 61 home runs and 130 RBI.
He also has a slight chance at winning the AL’s hitting Triple Crown.
Not too bad for an “injury prone” player.
