His seventh-inning home run against the Blue Jays broke a tie and paved the way for a Yankees victory.
But not only that: it was his 61st blast of the season, enough to tie him with Roger Maris (1961) as the record-holder of the most dingers over a single season in franchise history.
None of them had a season in which they hit more than Judge’s 61 round-trippers.
The woman responsible for raising young Aaron and putting a ceiling over his head, his mother Patty, was there to witness him make history.
For those who don’t know, Judge was adopted the day after he was born by Patty and Wayne Judge.
Both of them were teachers in Linden, California.
Patty was often spotted sitting next to Roger Maris Jr., as both have been attending every game ever since Judge hit home run number 60 last week.
A Proud Mom
She was seen celebrating, hugging Maris, and sending kisses to his son from the stands after he hit the historic home run last night.
After the game, Judge got to hug his mother, the one who has been with him through thick and thin.
Love for mom. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/ksLRKRxeIr

It was the best celebration a player could think of.
You could tell both the player and his mother were extremely happy and proud.
It was quite the achievement for the Judge family: it wasn’t just Aaron’s!
Next on the list is home run number 62, the one that will give him sole possession of the franchise record.
Patty will, as always, be there to support him.
