After a difficult start to the ALDS against the Cleveland Guardians, New York Yankees outfielder and slugger Aaron Judge turned it around in Game 5.
Judge had homered in Game 3 at Progressive Field, but hadn’t done much outside of that.
Yesterday though, he had himself a game to remember.
Judge went deep for the second time in the series as part of a two-hit game.
After his home run, as he was returning to the dugout, Judge kissed the Yankees logo on his jersey.
Following the Yankees’ 5-1 series clinching win over the Guardians, Judge talked a little bit about the situation, saying that he was inspired to do this by Premier League Soccer games.

Judge Finds Inspiration From The Premier League
There are many ways to draw inspiration in the postseason.
Most wouldn’t expect it to come from watching Premier League soccer games, but it appears to have worked out just fine for Judge.
It was enough to add a little insurance for the Yankees as they widened their lead over the Guardians to 4-0.
But it’s better to draw inspiration from something in the playoffs than to not draw any inspiration at all.
It may be two different sports, but the goal is obviously the same, and that is to win.
Judge found a way to draw some inspiration from a common Premier League practice after a crucial home run to give the Yankees a bigger lead.
It’s simply extra motivation for a player.
Judge is obviously accustomed to hitting home runs, having hit 62 this season.
The Yankees can only hope more home runs follow in the ALCS.
We’ll just have to see if Judge decides to continue this practice from the Premier League when he homers.
