Thursday’s battle between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz featured two of the best young teams in the league fighting for supremacy.
These are two squads that have a lot of potential and a whole lot of interest surrounding them, which is why so many people were paying close attention to the game.
In the end, the Jazz pulled out a 120-119 win over the Thunder.
That victory wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and crucial block from rookie Walker Kessler.

After tying the game 106-106 in regulation, Kessler shut down a game-winning bucket from the Thunder.
To say that Kessler was excited after this incredible block is an understatement.
All season long, he has known what he can bring to the team.
He has become one of the most pivotal parts of Utah’s rebuilding process.
His season average of 8.2 points and 7.8 rebounds (and his stunning 71.3% from the floor) is one of the highlights for the Jazz this season.
There is a lot to be happy about with the Jazz right now, from Lauri Markkanen’s All-Star performance to the continued reliability of Jordan Clarkson to the ridiculous amount of draft picks they have acquired.
Kessler is definitely one of the best things the Jazz have.
Keep in mind that he is doing all of this during his rookie year.
When the season started, few people expected much from the Jazz and perhaps that is why Kessler has had so much time to work, grow, and evolve his game.
The Jazz were willing to give him the time he needed and it’s paying off very well.
