Babe Ruth was a unique baseball star in that he could both pitch and hit effectively at the Major League level.
Ruth began his career with the Boston Red Sox in 1914 and was a key part of their success until being sold to the New York Yankees prior to the 1920 season in what supposedly kicked off the “Curse of the Bambino” for Boston.
Ruth transitioned to hitting as a member of the Yankees.
But on Saturday, something important took place.
One of Ruth’s gloves was on sale at an auction, and ended up being sold for $1.53 million, which is a World Record price for any baseball glove ever sold.

Fan Wins Babe Ruth’s Glove
Whoever won this auction certainly cashed in.
If you’re a true baseball fan and appreciate the history of the game, including players such as Babe Ruth, who pioneered such an important era, you’ll want to get your hands on as much baseball history as possible.
And that is exactly what this fan did.
It came at a record price too.
A glove used by the one and only Babe Ruth is the keepsake of a generation.
Few fans, if any can say that they own a keepsake as valuable as one of Ruth’s gloves.
But this fan certainly cashed in on a piece of baseball history and is a lucky winner.
Gloves today are much different than they were back then.
Now, this fan can potentially play some catch with a historic keepsake, an old school glove that just isn’t seen too often anymore.
