No one can deny that the Houston Rockets had a rough season last year.
They ended as the 15th team in the West with a record of just 20-62.
Sadly, things likely won’t be a lot better this year because the team lost one of its biggest stars, Christian Wood, in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks.
But there will still be some bright moments from Houston, mostly because of its up-and-coming twosome that runs the show.
Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green have a good thing going with the Rockets.

When you rewatch clips of them finding each other on the court last season, you see a pair of guys who obviously work like a dream, understand one another, and enjoy playing together.
This is the sort of duo that a team could be built around.
If the Rockets are smart, they will hold onto both Porter and Green in the years ahead.
The Rockets might not be good now – and they may not be for some time – but when they finally do become a strong team again, it’ll likely be because of these two.
The Heroes Of Houston
In 2021-22, Porter put up 15.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assist a game.
And Green was scoring 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists right beside him.
Together, this pair created a great rhythm between them and they hope to build upon that in the year ahead.
Wood was a pivotal part of the squad last year but now that he’s gone, the team’s coaching staff will be relying on Porter and Green more and will need them to do even better.
With more responsibility, the pair might find ways to improve and work even better.
It won’t lead to the playoffs but it will lay the groundwork for greatness in the next few years.
