Edgar Martinez is a Seattle Mariners legend.
He is an authorized voice when it comes to offering takes about the team, its performance, and its outlook.
Fans adore him, as he wore nothing but the Mariners uniform from 1987 to 2004, completing one of the most amazing careers you will ever see for a designated hitter.
A Hall of Famer since 2019, he retired with a lifetime .312 batting average, 2,247 hits, 309 home runs, and 1,261 RBI.
He is a seven-time MLB All-Star, five-time Silver Slugger, and two-time batting champion.
Oh, and he served as the Mariners hitting coach from 2015 to 2018.
When Martinez praises the Mariners, you know they are doing well.
On the weekend, after coming back from an 8-1 deficit, the franchise legend showed that his heart belongs to the Mariners.
A True Franchise Hero
We didn’t have any doubts, but it’s always good to have confirmation.

“What a comeback!!! @mariners showed us what heart and big desire to win they have. #SeaUsRise#PostSeason,” the legend wrote on his official Twitter account.
Martinez himself is no stranger to stellar postseason moments.
In the 1995 American League Division Series against the New York Yankees, he hit “The Double”, a hit that won the series in dramatic fashion and sent the Mariners to the Championship Series.
This time, he got to see how his Mariners worked their way back from a seven-run deficit at one point.
The comeback had a little bit of everything: solid pitching to prevent the Blue Jays from scoring many more runs, a timely home run by Carlos Santana, a bloop double by J.P. Crawford, and yes, a bit of luck, too.
Now, the Mariners will be taking on the best team in the American League: the Houston Astros.
There, their true skill and determination will be thoroughly tested.
