The New York Jets are currently in a 12-year playoff drought.
This is the longest active drought in the league, but fans are confident that their odds are shifting in 2023.
Aaron Rodgers is the Jets’ newest quarterback, who will try to bring them out of their years of misery.
Being that the Jets have been in this position for several years, it can be easy to forget about their storied history.
Joe Namath is a large part of franchise history, and he celebrates his 80th birthday on May 31, as detailed by Rich Cimini.
Hard to believe, but @RealJoeNamath celebrates his 80th birthday today. Just recently, I spent a day with Joe at his home in Florida. A reflective Broadway Joe-turned-doting grandpa opens up in a candid interview about life at 80. #Jets https://t.co/QN4oURJsCS

Cimini spent a day with Namath in Florida, interviewing him, and writing an article on ESPN.
Namath played the majority of his career with the Jets, winning Super Bowl III, and Super Bowl MVP, among other accolades.
The Jets experienced some of their greatest franchise success under Namath’s leadership, a storied member of their history.
In Cimini’s conversation with Namath, Namath said, “We want to win, the fans want to win.”
This was regarding Namath offering the No. 12 to Rodgers, who respectfully declined.
Even though Namath has been out of the league for several years, he appears to be a diehard Jets fan, eager to watch the team find success.
Throughout his interview with Cimini, Namath continued to show his gratitude, happy to be alive for 80 years.
Even as he gets older, Namath’s charm seems to stick with him, as Cimini continues to highlight.
Namath is an NFL legend, whose place is cemented in history.
