Some coaches in the NBA are just as showy and well-known as their stars.
Then there are others who sit quietly on the bench and don’t draw much attention to themselves.
Finally, there are those like George Karl, who was never too showy but never too quiet either.
His time in the NBA was impressive in many ways and is now considered historic.

For his hard work, Karl recently entered into the Basketball Hall of Fame, cementing his place in the history of the NBA.
What is it that made Karl such a fascinated, fun, and accomplished coach in the league?
From Player To Coach
Like many NBA coaches, Karl first got his start as a player when he took to the court for the San Antonio Spurs from 1973 to 1978.
That would be the only team he’d ever play for and would become an assistant coach for that crew right after that.
Following that, Karl bounced around the CBA and then started as a coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1984.
His career really began to take off when he coached the Seattle SuperSonics starting in 1992.
During his time in the Pacific Northwest, Karl was the All-Star Game head coach three times.
He spent time with the Bucks before finding a lot of success as the coach of the Denver Nuggets, starting in 2005.
During his time with the Nuggets, Karl was named Coach of the Year and led the All-Star team again.
He would end his coaching career in 2016 with the Sacramento Kings and he left behind quite a track record.
Karl’s record is an impressive 1175-824, or .588.
That is more than enough to earn his place in the Hall of Fame.
