Fans often do crazy things to show how faithful they are to a specific team or player.
Many of them get tattoos of their team’s logo, for example.
Some of them take things a little further and get a tattoo of their favorite player’s autograph.
When you root for a team, you often become a fan of a specific player and associate him to that specific club.
When that player is no longer associated to that team because he was traded, released, or designated for assignment, and you got ink on your skin with that player’s autograph, well… let’s just say it’s not an ideal scenario.
The Jomboy Media Twitter account posted a picture of a fan with a recent tattoo of Matt Beaty‘s autograph.
He is a Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and the team released the player on Thursday.
Ouch…
“A Dodgers fan got Matt Beaty’s autograph tattooed on his arm last week Beaty was released by the Dodgers today,” they tweeted.

Beaty Literally Marked A Fan For Life
Talk about being marked for life.
Beaty was actually designated for assignment, which was done to clear a spot in the 40-man roster.
He will need to be traded, waived, or outrighted to the minors in the next 10 days.
The decision was actually surprising in MLB circles because Beaty had been a perfectly valuable role player for the Dodgers in the last few years.
He can play first base and the outfield corners, so with the Dodgers bringing in former MVP Freddie Freeman, one can understand the move.
Beaty hit .270/.363/.402 with seven homers in 234 plate appearances in 2021, and should generate plenty of interest on waivers.
He will now go to another team, but the fan who tattooed his autograph will surely remember him for the rest of his life.
