Fans of the San Diego Padres may have already put a curse on their team as they dropped Game 1 of the NLCS to the Philadelphia Phillies by a final of 2-0.
Prior to Game 1 at Petco Park, a group of men dressed head to toe in Padres gear put together a little song for their team, proclaiming that the Phillies had no chance to beat them in the NLCS, as each stanza of the “song” ended with a “That’s what’s in.”
So far, it hasn’t worked out so well for the Padres or the fans that put together this piece.
The Phillies gained an early edge with their Game 1 win, and now have a chance to go home ahead 2-0.

“That’s What’s In”
This fan video is already more than enough to make other people cringe, including some of their fellow Padres fans, but it might just have been all the Phillies needed in order to overcome the Padres.
Soon, the fans who created this video may be cringing.
As the old saying goes, it’s unwise to count your chickens before they’re hatched, and that appears to be what this group of Padres fans did.
Obviously, it hasn’t done the Padres any favors.
The question now is whether or not the Padres can recover from it.
2022 has been a year full of jinxes and teams, fans, and managers celebrating too early.
Dave Roberts proclaimed that the Los Angeles Dodgers were going to win the World Series back in March.
That didn’t work out.
Then the Milwaukee Brewers told a St. Louis Cardinals fan on Twitter that they couldn’t hear him from three games back.
The Cardinals and their fans got the last laugh.
This might just be the next incident that costs a team something special.
We’ll see how the rest of the series plays out.
