He had flirted with the idea in the past, saying he wanted to spend his free time doing others things.
But he has been thoroughly convinced to stick around with the hit basketball show.

Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Monday that Barkley and his crew signed a big extension to keep hosting the show for the foreseeable future.
Barkley’s deal has him on TNT for ten more years and it is giving him millions of dollars to do so.
In fact, some people are pointing out that Barkley could be making more money co-hosting the show than he ever did playing in the NBA.
We don’t know if that is literally true but the facts are clear: Barkley is staying on TV for a long time and he is getting a massive paycheck to do so.
Barkley’s Big Payday
Barkley had previously said that he wished to retire at 60 years old.
He’s 59 now and just signed this hefty extension so his plans have obviously changed.
Barkley is just one part of the special team that makes Inside The NBA so special.
Thankfully, the rest of the co-hosts also signed deals so they will all be coming back.
There is a slight chance that the NBA decides to negate its deal with TNT in the years ahead when a new collective bargaining agreement is made.
But that would be the only way that Inside The NBA would end.
TNT is obviously very intent on keeping its hit show alive – and keeping all of the hosts in place.
