The San Francisco 49ers are one win away from advancing to the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons.
They are heading into the game with plenty of confidence too considering they beat the Los Angeles Rams, their opponent this weekend, in Week 18 to reach the postseason in the first place.
Jimmy Garoppolo is fighting through the criticism and looking for redemption after nearly winning it all a few years back.
The 49ers advancing to the Super Bowl in general would also continue a shocking trend for the big game.

The last 18 Super Bowls have featured Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, or the 49ers.
San Francisco is trying to extend that streak to 19 with another road win this postseason.
A Streak Ending Soon
The retirement of Roethlisberger means Brady is the last one standing from this Super Bowl trend.
A crazy note to remember is that Manning or Roethlisberger had not gone since the 2015 season.
Brady had played in four of the past five Super Bowls before this season.
This trend may have to add Patrick Mahomes as he is looking to make his third consecutive Super Bowl.
He and Josh Allen appear to be the new edition of Brady vs. Manning, while Joe Burrow is another AFC signal-caller who appears set for stardom.
Meanwhile, there are the 49ers.

The franchise has not won a Super Bowl since back in the 1994 season, but went in both 2012 and 2019.
They are in their fifth NFC Championship Game since 2011 and continue to win without elite quarterback play.
So maybe Kyle Shanahan’s leadership will have the 49ers continuing to keep this streak alive, at least this season.
After that, NFL fans have to focus on the next crop of stars who will become regulars in February.
