On Monday, the entire football world was frozen in a state of shock and fear when Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin made a tackle on Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, but suffered a traumatic hit to his chest and collapsed to the ground.
CPR was given to him, and he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, and players from both teams were so distraught that the game, which was supposed to be a marquee matchup, was suspended indefinitely.
All of a sudden, the competitive aspect of football has become secondary, even with just one week remaining in the regular season, as everyone is hoping Hamlin makes a full and speedy recovery.
Several members of the San Francisco 49ers offered positive vibes to Hamlin and his loved ones shortly after the incident.
Prayers up for Hamlin 🙏🏽

One thing that makes Hamlin very likable is the fact that, like many players, he does philanthropy and looks to help the less fortunate help themselves.
He started a toy drive via a GoFundMe page, and 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey decided to make a generous donation to that initiative.
Appears as if Christian McCaffrey is a top donor for Damar Hamlin's toy drive.
Love to see the camaraderie from across the NFL in a moment as scary as this. #FTTB pic.twitter.com/YaInZyrxNM

It is heartening to see players from that team, as well as players from all teams, including the Bengals, show intense sympathy for Hamlin in this dire time of need.
