Week 1 was a massive success for the San Francisco 49ers as they went on the road and dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 49ers picked up where they left off in the 2022 NFL season as they played fast and physical on both sides of the field to overwhelm the Steelers and take home the easy win.
Brock Purdy showed that last year wasn’t a fluke as he threw two touchdowns in the victory, while Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk torched the Pittsburgh defense on the ground and in the air, respectively.
While the San Francisco offense looked like a well-oiled machine, the defense is what really stood out as they held their opponents to minimal yardage in the first half.
The Steelers eventually found some rhythm in the second half, but at that point, the result of the game had already been decided.
Kyle Shanahan has found ways to get the best out of his rosters and he drew high praise from Javon Hargrave for the job he’s done via Sterling Bennett of 95.7 The Game.
“…I’m going to know what the offense is running,” Hargrave said. “I’ve never seen somebody that detailed on the offensive end…I’ve been around some great coaches but he’s one of the smartest ones I’ve ever been around.”

There’s no denying that Shanahan is one of the brightest minds in football today as his offensive scheme is one of the most quarterback and run-friendly in the league.
Defensively, he also knows what he’s doing and that expertise will go a long way in helping San Francisco make it back to the postseason.
