The MLB postseason has moved on to the divisional series in both leagues.
Plenty of players stepped up in the wild-card round to push their teams into the next round.
The road teams even won three of the four first-round series.
The playoffs are where players can make a name for themselves.
Here are four MLB players shining so far in the postseason.
Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros
The Astros’ slugger has played one game in the postseason so far.
But, his impact has already been immense.
Trailing 7-3 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, the Astros had plenty of work to do.
In the final two innings of the game, Alvarez went 2-2 including the walk-off three-run homer.

For the game, Alvarez had three hits and five RBIs.
He saved Houston from a game-one loss at home, and help swing the momentum in their favor the rest of the series.
Alvarez was the Astros’ best hitter all season and he did not miss a beat in the playoffs.
The lefty will continue to be counted on to lead the Astros back to the world series.
Trent Grisham, San Diego Padres
When you think of the San Diego Padres the names Soto, Machado, and Darvish will come up first.
But, the man that carried them through the wild-card round was Trent Grisham.
The center fielder has been elite defensively for San Diego but struggled at the plate.
In the wild-card series, Grisham batted .500 with two home runs, three RBIs, and five runs scored.

He took over this series for the Padres and carried them to the upset victory.
Now it will be interesting to see if he can do it again in the NLDS.
In game one, Grisham added a single and RBI against the Dodgers.
Los Angeles was the best team in baseball this year and the Padres will need to generate runs to beat them.
Bryce Harper/ Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies
One of the upsets of the wild-card round was by the Philadelphia Phillies.
The final wild-card team in the NL, swept the NL Central champion, St. Louis Cardinals.
Two of the big reasons for the Phillies’ success have been Bryce Harper and Zack Wheeler.
Harper hit a key home run in game two against the Cards, while Wheeler had 6.2 scoreless innings in game one.

But, these two superstars continued their great play into the NLDS.
The Phillies stunned the Braves in game one behind a 3-3 game from Harper.
Wheelers stepped onto the mound in game two in Atlanta and gave the Phillies a chance.
The righty threw 6 innings while giving up three runs.
But, poor defense and lack of hitting sends the Phillies and Braves back to Philadelphia with the series tied 1-1.
All the pressure is on the Phillies hitters to generate some runs for Aaron Nola in game three.
Wheeler only threw 79 pitches in game two, so he could be set up to come back later in the series on short rest.
If the Phillies have any chance of winning this series the bat of Harper and the arm of Wheeler will play a big role.
