The Indianapolis Colts have made some significant additions throughout the offseason.
They’ve added talent through free agency, during the NFL Draft, and even made trades.
The Colts roster appears to be in much better position than it was at this time last season.
Whenever you add talent at a position, that means someone else is going to lose playing time.
There are a few Colts players that aren’t going to benefit from the additions the Colts made this offseason.
1. Marlon Mack
Running back Marlon Mack has been a workhorse for the team over the last two seasons.
He’s coming off a 2019 season where he rushed for 1,091 yards on 247 attempts with eight touchdowns through 14 games.
However, despite his excellent play, the Colts wanted to add another running back to give the team a 1-2 punch.

During the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Colts added Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor.
Taylor saw 320 attempts for 2,003 rushing yards, and 21 touchdowns during his final season with Badgers.
He only spent three years in college and is already one of the best Big Ten running backs in history.
The Colts want to split up the carries between the two backs, but Taylor might become the future.
Mack is set to become a free agent after the 2020 season, so it makes sense for them to draft Taylor.
There is a good chance that the Colts give both players a fair share of carries next season.
However, Mack isn’t going to average the 17 carries per game like he has over the course of the last two seasons.
Colts fans and fantasy football owners should expect Mack to see less usage going forward with Taylor in the picture.
2. T.J. Carrie
The Colts brought in veteran defensive back T.J. Carrie on a one-year deal this offseason.
He’s expected to provide some depth behind starters Kenny Moore and Rock Ya-Sin.
However, the Colts have also added two-time Pro Bowl defensive back Xavier Rhodes as well.

Indy also selected Massachusetts defensive back Isaiah Rodgers in the sixth round of the 2020 draft.
Rodgers collected 187 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 11 interceptions during his four seasons in college.
He could very well find himself competing with Carrie for positional depth during camp.
Carrie recorded 52 tackles, one interception, and one sack through 16 games (six starts) with the Browns last season.
There’s a chance that Carrie gets lost in the shuffle with Rhodes on the roster as well.
Carrie is not expected to see as much playing time as he saw in Cleveland over the last few seasons.
3. Zach Pascal
The Colts were banged up by injuries last season, which pushed Zach Pascal into a significant role.
He hauled in 41 receptions, 607 receiving yards, and five touchdowns through 16 games last season.
However, the Colts are expected to have a healthy T.Y. Hilton back this season.

The Colts selected USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. with their first selection of the 2020 draft.
Pittman hauled in 101 receptions, 1,275 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns during his senior year.
He is expected to immediately slide into the No. 2 spot for the Colts this season.
That means Pascal will be competing with Parris Campbell, Marcus Johnson, and sixth-round pick Dezmon Patmon for playing time.
The Colts will still involve Pascal in their offense, but he’s not expected to see nearly as much playing time as he did last season.
4. Grover Stewart
Defensive tackle Grover Stewart might not be the most exciting player, but he did make an impact for the Colts last season.
He recorded 30 tackles, three sacks, and five quarterback hits through 16 games (13 starts) last season.
Stewart was on the field quite often for Indy last season, but is expected to see his playing time take a significant dip in 2020.

"Excited to add another monster to our defense."
— Zak Keefer (@zkeefer) May 6, 2020
The Colts traded their first round pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for superstar defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
The 26-year-old star collected 62 tackles, 7.5 sacks, and 14 quarterback pressures through 16 games last season.
Buckner immediately becomes a core piece to the future of the Colts defense.
That means, Stewart could possibly fight for playing time at the right tackle spot.
Otherwise, Stewart is not expected to see anywhere near the amount of playing time that he did during the 2019 season.
However, Colts fans should be excited to have a superstar like Buckner on their team for the long term.
