The MLB World Series is set, with the Houston Astros facing off against the Philadelphia Phillies,
It is a matchup of the underdog Phillies, who were the lowest seed in the NL playoffs, against the Astros, who are widely considered as the favorites.

However, it is October and anything can happen.
Here is a look at three players that will be under the spotlight this World Series.
3. Justin Verlander
Coming off Tommy John, Justin Verlander put together arguably the best season of his career on the mound.
So far in the playoffs, he has had one bad start and another solid one.
With his age and injury, there may be some concerns about possible fatigue with his arm.
He will certainly be starting game one for the Astros, and will need to set a statement for the team.
It also sets up for him to start in two games, and perhaps make a relief appearance in a possible game seven.
Add this together and he is someone to watch.
2. Yordan Alvarez
In their series against the Seattle Mariners, Jordan Alvarez had a pair of massive home runs.
However, in the ALCS against the New York Yankees, his bat went relatively quiet until the final game.
Yordan Alvarez knock that tied the game.

For the Astros to win, he will need to catch fire.
His defense in left field is also a large question mark.
He is shaky, and defensive mistakes are crushing in the World Series.
1. Kyle Schwarber
While it would be easy to put Bryce Harper here, another big name the Phillies need is Kyle Schwarber.
Schwarber has shown that he likes the big moments, and he has experience in the World Series.
After hitting .400 with three home runs in the NLCS, Schwarber has the chance to carry this offense to a title.
Watch for him to have a monster series.
