3 NFL Players Who Chose The Wrong Team In Free Agency

The 2022 NFL free agency market has seen some wild moves.

Some shocking activities have happened in the free agency market.

Players like Odell Beckham Jr. still being on the market is stunning.

The decision of Von Miller to go to the Bills was a plot twist in free agency.

With many teams filling their gaps in free agency, some players picked the wrong team.

While there are still plenty of free agents left on the market, here are the top three players who chose the wrong team.

3. Xavier Woods Signing With Carolina Panthers

Woods played last season with the Minnesota Vikings after spending four seasons in Dallas.

He is a solid player in the secondary for any team.

With playoff teams like the New England Patriots and his former team, the Dallas Cowboys needing a safety, the Woods move to Carolina seems wrong for him.

At the very least, he could have signed with the Cowboys.

They needed him back at his old position.

Even if they passed on him, he had the Patriots.

Head coach Bill Belichick consistently has a solid defense every year.

Adding Woods would keep his defense solid for 2022.

Signing with the Patriots would also give Woods a team that makes it to the playoffs regularly.

Instead, he chose the Panthers, who are in a tough NFC South division.

They also missed the playoffs last season and have struggled to find the right person at quarterback.

2. Equanimeous St. Brown Signing With The Bears

When Brown was with the Packers, he wasn’t used that often.

So him moving to a team that would use him more makes sense.

However, with Davante Adams out of Green Bay, Brown could have seen more playing time in Green Bay.

Staying there would have given Brown an experienced quarterback to work with in Aaron Rodgers.

But now he has second-year quarterback Justin Fields to work with on the field.

Playing time might have been the fact here in his decision.

But in hindsight, he made the wrong choice to not sick it out with the Packers.

The Bills and Titans could have used his services if he couldn’t have gone with the Packers.

Both teams were playoff teams last year.

1. Christian Kirk Signing With The Jacksonville Jaguars

Another wide receiver that signed with a non-playoff team is Christian Kirk.

He was with the Arizona Cardinals last season, a team that was in the playoffs.

With the options for Kirk in the NFL, going with the Jaguars seems like the wrong move.

They have another new coach for the season.

While they are building around Trevor Lawrence, the rebuild won’t happen for a couple of seasons.

Teams like the Bills, Titans, Patriots, and 49ers could have used a player like Kirk.

Those teams are playoff teams as well.

Kirk would have had a better chance of making the playoffs, or maybe the Super Bowl with any of those teams.

However, he decided to go with the Jaguars, who are clearly in a rebuilding stage.
