After each NFL season, there are always head coaches that are fired.
That is just a part of the job.
NFL teams are more likely than ever to pull the plug on their head coach after one bad season.
Well, one of the hot names on the coaching market after the season will be Sean Payton.
The former Saints coach stepped away from the game after last season but is expected to coach again.
Any team with a vacancy should be interested in Payton.
He is a former Super Bowl winning head coach, and one of the best offensive minds in recent history.
Here are two surprising teams that could move on from their current coach and pursue Payton in 2023.
1. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are far too talented of a roster to struggle as much as they do.
Having a star QB in Justin Herbert should give them an advantage over most teams.
Even so, they are still struggling to win games.
The Chargers are 4-3 this year but have not looked overly impressive.
Justin Herbert this season:
170 Passes Completed. -1st
1,716 Passing Yards. -4th
286.0 Pass Yds/Game. -5th
10 Passing TDs. -6th
2 Comebacks. -2nd
2 Game-Winning Drives. -2ndPlaying with fractured rib cartilages since Week 2 and yet still top 5. 🔥 pic.twitter.com/h2tlZT7IyW

After the season, LA should be interested in Payton.
They need an offensive coach to help take Herbert to another level.
Plus with all the weapons on the Chargers, they should be a perennial top-five offense.
Payton will have his pick of the litter when it comes to his next team.
But, he will be looking for an established QB to work with and Herbert is that.
2. Denver Broncos
The Nathaniel Hackett era in Denver will more than likely be over after this season.
The Broncos are awful this year and they will be looking for a proven head coach to come in and take over the team.

Payton might be interested in taking this job because he can work with Russell Wilson.
Wilson is a proven QB who needs to get the mojo back that he once has in Seattle.
Payton should be able to get the best out of Wilson and help him get back to his Pro-Bowl ways.
The roster in Denver is too good to miss the playoffs.
But, once that happens this year, Payton will be a popular name to take over the Broncos.
