Fans of the Chicago Bears are hoping the team trades back from their number one pick in 2023.
While going back can give the team needed draft capital, some feel the Bears should keep the pick.
With a tough decision ahead, the Bears need a good reason not to trade their pick.
There are only two reasons for the team to keep the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
If They Fear They Will Lose Their Guy
Most people doing their mock draft predictions have the Bears drafting a defensive player.
While they need this, they might lose their player if they trade back.
With the Arizona Cardinals holding the third overall pick, they are likely to draft a defensive player.
If the #Bears trade to pick 4 in the draft Will Anderson will most likely go pick 3 overall to the #Cardinals
I love Jalen Carter but Anderson is the defensive player that I want from this draft

If the Houston Texans aren’t willing to move up from the second pick, the Bears might fear losing their guy to the Cardinals.
This fear can be a solid reason for the team to hold their pick instead of trading it away.
If They Want To Replace Justin Fields
If the Bears feel they should move on from quarterback Justin Fields, they need to keep the number one pick.
With the 2023 NFL Draft having plenty of quarterbacks, having the first pick gives the Bears an edge.
They can draft any of the elite quarterbacks in this year’s draft, something they should do if they feel Fields isn’t good enough.
Moving on from their current quarterback is the only other reason for the Bears to keep the first overall pick.
