As we get set to enter December in the NFL, there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered.
One hot topic always being, which teams are contenders and which are pretenders?
These next few games will tell us a lot about which teams are threats as the playoff picture comes into focus.
There are a few surprise teams that are still in the hunt but have been leaking oil.
It should be a surprise to no one when those teams fall out of the race.
Here are the two teams most likely to fall out of the playoff hunt.
New York Giants
One team that has been playing on borrowed time is the New York Giants.
Despite their 7-4 record, and early season success, they have lost two straight games.
Their rest of-season schedule is not getting any easier.
New York still has two games with the Philadelphia Eagles and a matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
Plus two more contests with another division opponent in the Washington Commanders.
Giants back to work Monday. Huge game Sunday vs. Washington.
It’s essential Giants (7-4), Washington (7-5) and Seattle (6-5) for the final 2 NFC playoff spots.

It looks increasingly likely that the Giants end the year with about nine wins.
Whether or not that gets them into the playoffs remains to be seen.
But, their lack of offensive firepower will be their downfall.
New York Jets
Another New York team that does not look playoff caliber is the New York Jets.
To the surprise of everyone, the Jets have had a successful season thus far.
Their record is 7-4 and they are currently in the final wild-card spot in the AFC.
But, that conference is loaded with good teams and the Jets are in danger of falling out.
The Jets still have to play the Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, and Miami Dolphins.
It appears Mike White will remain their quarterback for the foreseeable future, who is an improvement over Zach Wilson.

But, the Jets are not ready to make a playoff push yet.
They lack quarterback experience and star players on both sides of the ball.
Despite an impressive season, the Jets are likely to fade out before the playoffs.
